Amazing. Marissa from Drill Team is leaving, so Andy N. is taking her place. This means there was a vacancy at Insound, which has been taken by Holly. Wow. Today, Holly made sure that the international orders were valid (we have to screen them because of the occasional fake order) and made coupons for us interns. I hope she doesn't get all cocky now that she's hired and continues to hang out with us. I'm really glad though, she seemed really disappointed that she couldn't get a job here.
I put postage on a package to be sent out to this kid I'm facebook friends with, Thomas. I recognized the name but I wasn't sure if he lived in North Carolina, but when I got home I checked, so I'm pretty sure it was him.
Went to Matador with Whitney. It was quite excellent. Oh! But superweird, the Normal Girl at Other Music was there! I think she must be interning. I smiled at her because I recognized her. Whitney and I treated ourselves to some tasty cool free water from the water dispenser at Matador. Whoa. How can you hate this label? They have free water right out front where everyone can have a sip. Yay for rich indie labels!!!
Patrick M. tried to get the Rothko owner to let us in for the Insound party tomorrow night. "No dice", he said. Apparently Rothko has gotten in trouble for letting in underage people. I pointed out the irony that Be Your Own Pet will be playing the party, and Patrick was like, "Yeah, I know..." Ah well.
Mike put on the Wedding Crashers soundtrack. We got a promo copy. It was okay, but very OC-soundtrack-y. Make of that what you will. Natalie and Whitney figured out how to use my mp3 player. Whitney put on Klaus Nomi and I found out what the song I liked on New York Noise is called: "After the Fall".
Question: when the A Clockwork Orange soundtrack was made, was it composed, was the artist still a guy or already a girl? That is, is the soundtrack credited to Walter or Wendy? I figure if I'm listening to Klaus Nomi I should listen to some of this soundtrack too. Don't ask me to verbalize how I connect these two things, but it makes sense in my head...
Things I got at work!
You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
Tres cosas
Go Zbra
Weird fact, these cds are all in the same kind of packaging, not in normal jewel cases but in cardboard thingies. Y'know.
